Taking my DJ set to the sky ✈️ | Playing above Belgium for Turbulence Airfest
Two weeks after playing Tomorrowland, I thought my summer couldn't get much crazier.
I was wrong.
On August 4, I got the opportunity to do something I had never done before: play a full DJ set aboard a Piper Malibu Jetprop while flying above Belgium.
No stage. No massive crowd in front of me. Just my DJ gear, a few cameras, a pilot… and a pretty unusual view from the booth. 😅
From Tomorrowland to the sky
2026 has already been an incredible year for me.
In July, I returned to Tomorrowland Belgium for my second performance, playing a much harder and more energetic set than during my first appearance. I've also had the opportunity to perform in Belgium, Germany, France and Spain.
But when the team behind Turbulence Airfest contacted me with this idea, I immediately knew this was going to be different.
Their question was basically:
Would you like to play a DJ set inside a flying airplane?
There aren't many moments when you get a message like that.
So obviously, my answer was yes.
Preparing a DJ booth inside a Piper Malibu
On the morning of August 4, we arrived at Kortrijk-Wevelgem Airport.
Our aircraft was a Piper Malibu Jetprop, piloted by Jean-Marie Guisset, an experienced pilot with around 10,000 flying hours and the owner of Airport Amougies.
There was one small challenge: a Piper Malibu wasn't exactly designed as a nightclub.
We had to fit the DJ equipment, speaker, cameras and crew inside the aircraft while making sure everything was safely installed for the flight.
Three cameras were positioned around the cabin to capture the complete experience.
And then it was time to take off.
I have to admit: I was nervous.
I had never flown in such a small aircraft before. Playing music while flying made the experience even more surreal.
But once we were in the air and I started the set, the nerves quickly disappeared.
Headphones on.
Music playing.
And Belgium passing underneath us.
Definitely one of the strangest — and coolest — DJ booths I've ever played in.
Why did we do this?
The flight wasn't just about creating a crazy DJ video.
It was organised together with Turbulence Airfest, a new event taking place on 29 and 30 August 2026 at Airport Amougies.
The festival is bringing an iconic aviation event back to Amougies after 27 years and combines two worlds that normally don't meet very often: aviation and music.
Visitors will be able to discover aircraft and helicopters, watch flying demonstrations and paradrops, experience initiation flights, enjoy food and entertainment and, of course, listen to live music.
And there is another reason why this project is special for me.
On Saturday 29 August, I'll be closing Turbulence Airfest with my own DJ show.
So you could say this flight was only the warm-up. 🚀
A DJ set I'll never forget
One of the things I love about being a DJ is that you never really know where music is going to take you.
A few years ago, I started learning to DJ.
Since then I've played Tomorrowland twice, performed abroad and met people from all over the world through music and social media.
But playing a complete set inside an aircraft was something completely new.
And that's exactly what makes this journey so much fun.
I want to keep improving, producing music, discovering new places and taking on opportunities that push me outside my comfort zone.
Sometimes that means stepping onto a festival stage.
Apparently, sometimes it also means stepping onto an airplane. ✈️🔥
